Alla Brikman

 

Alla Brikman came to the U.S. from Riga, Latvia in 1991. She has 23 years of experience working with the refugee population as a case manager, director, Lynn site supervisor, and citizenship coordinator for local Jewish agencies. She provided resettlement services to refugees and asylees residing in the Boston area and on the North Shore, working in close contact with various private, state, and federal agencies (HIAS, ORI, MIRA, etc.). She also coordinated the Citizenship Assistance Program, taught classes in American history and civics, as well as provided assistance with citizenship applications. For her work and commitment to the refugee population, Alla Brikman was honored as one of the Community Unsung Heroines of 2008 by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women and received official citations of recognition from the Governor, the Senate, and the House of Representatives.
